Sunday Happy

Cool and dreary spring days. My absolute favorite weather, well besides the full on allergy face I get when all the green stuff pops, but I will take itchy eyeballs and a leaky nose for this any day. I mean, how can you not love watching all the colors grow into living stuff? It is pretty freaking fantastic.

Nothing to exciting happened this week. Went for walks, played in the garden and threw some seeds in. The mr caught the woodchuck (he moved in under the porch.. he had to go) and released him into into the wild. I read a lot, worked in the studio, and we did the stuff we needed doing . And that is about it. It was a quiet week but I needed a quiet week.

Back to Sunday. I have a handful of pieces that I need to glaze so I am going bop into the studio for a few while the mr does a little work. After that we are going to find a trail to hike and a place to picnic lunch. And I will probably close out the rest of the day with hot coffee and tea, on the porch, reading. A good day for sure.

Sunday Happy

IMG_1461.jpg

Ah, another week down. And how was it for you? Was is warm and spring all week or did you get a late April snow storm? We got a few inches in the middle of the week. And honestly I might have grumbled a bit, but mostly because I couldn't bike for a couple days. Other then that, I freaking loved it. Soft fluffy snow one day, 60 degrees the next. And this is why I love VT!

Beside a weird summer, winter weather swing, the week was not to different fro the last. Both the mr and I have been doing our things. Him off redoing a kitchen, me trying to get a big batch of mugs done. I was (and still am) trying to finish up the taxes and all that jazz. We also (and more the mr then me) finished putting up the garden fence and I am in LOVE with it. It is so cute but also so needed! Sure the squirrels can still get it ( they jump in from the trees but I am not to worried about them) but it will keep the bunnies and cats and woodchucks out. Hopefully. Last years garden fiasco really hurt my soul so those little fuckers better not this year. HA!

Did a few other fun things. I went to the dentist! That was super exciting given the fact that they we closed for 1/2 a year and this was the earliest appointment I could get. Nothing like a good teeth cleaning, am I right? And I went for a nice spring hike with Meg, Barb, and the kiddos. So found a big river rock at the beginning of the hike and made Megan carry it for an hour and a half because she was convinced she found a dinosaur egg. I was convinced too. But now that I think of it, no one had informed me of a hatched dinosaur so I think it was probably just a rock. We also had the littles over. I fed them all the food. Judah and I made cupcakes. Barb got frosting all over her clothes. Coco ran around like a like mad man, and Miley, well she was 13. Enough said.

Yesterday was one of those super gratifying days. I woke up to late spring again. Went for a bike ride and a run then came home to the mr doing a few things for me and off he went to work. I then spent the rest of the day in and out of the house doing yard work, playing in the garden, and cleaning the house. It was so nice, if not slightly frustrating because I wanted to do everything at once and didn't get more done. But none the less, at least I got some seeds in the ground. And my house is nice and clean!

Today is suppose to rain all day and I am glad about it. I think the mr and I are going to have a little chore date this afternoon and then after chores I hope to spend some of the rainy afternoon sitting on the porch with coffee and a blanket and my pile of books. I am currently in the throws of reading 4 books at the moment. Not exactly sure how that happened but I know 2 of them are new releases so I can’t renew them which means I gots to read them before they are due. Library problem right?

This week was crazy. Everyday seemed to fly by but when I look back to even a few days ago, it seems like so long ago. And the weird thing is that it seems almost normal, kind of like how time passed in the before times. Does that make sense? Forgive me if don’t make complete sense, I am dead ass tired.

So the week. It started off on Easter (he always seems to work the holidays) with the mr doing a 14 hour work day. And that was the being becase it didn’t stop all week. He has been leaving the house when I do in the morning (7am) and getting home when I am already asleep (like 10ish). And for the first few days I was doing my own thing, I went for a birthday hike with Megan, threw some pots, did the taxes (not done) and brought food, food to both the mr and Barb cause Barb was doing the tile job with the mr too. Toward the end of the week, after they got all the tile down, I also joined in to the brew haha and helped grout the bitch (the bitch being the tiled floor). All three of use on our hands and knees for hours. We busted ass and even after a few blips (grout shortage and a chemical burn or two) and near nervous break downs due to lack of sleep (the mr) we got the job done. Literally just last night. I was lucky and got to go home late yesterday afternoon but the mr, well he had to do all the finish work and clean the tile and also some pluming stuff and blah blah blah and I am pretty sure he just got home a few hours ago at like 1am. That guy, he really is something. And the floor. Both the mr and Barb did such a good job laying it. It looked fucking fantastic!

And that was the week.

Sunday again. The mr better sleep his ass in. And he better not have planned any work today. I want today to be a chill day. I would say go for a hike but first off, everyone and there mother is out because of the weather (which I will say is nice sure, but scary) and I am not ready to see so many people, even from a distance. People scare me but that is not a pandemic thing, that is just my normal reaction. HA. And secondly I don’t think the mr is going to be up for anything involving rigorous physical activity. He is trashed from the week. So after I go for my run and do some house cleaning this morning, I’ll probably just spend the afternoon doing yard work. And drinking coffee, and maybe take a nap because I am pretty trashed too.

I went from wearing sandals to winter boots, back to sandals within a matter of a few days. The snow we got was oh so lovely but I think I am ok if it doesn’t snow anymore this season. My feet, and my need to dig into the dirt are not feeling it anymore.

A lot went on this week and and it was a mixed bag of feelings. Monday was Seans death day and that always puts me in a mood, and not a particularly good one. Then my mom had to put her dog down on the same day. Not the best way to start the week but thats the way it stared. A day of loss. It was really hard for my mom especially because of the day but the puppy was super old and it was her time. 😥

After a shit start, the week got a little better. It was my moms birthday so I made her a big dinner and cake and spent some time with her because I am the best daughter ever! Then Barb, the Mr, and I made Easter cookies with Sophia and I got to watch an 8 year old girl but those too buts in their place. HAHA! An I managed to get some glazing done. And I worked, I completely avoided all tax stuff, and I finished up a mug order that needed to finished. I accomplished this week.

Today The mr and I are both going to be working. I know it’s Easter but he is starting a big job under a time crunch and we actually don’t really care about Easter so whatever. I do wish we could go for a hike but whatever. I might try to drag his ass camping once this job is done so there is that to look forward too. And since he is working all day, I figured I would too so I am going to the studio for the day to try and get some more shit done. It should be good though cause I will be all by myself! and can open the big garage doors and get some fresh air. I listen to music, drink all the hot coffee, and I will be good.

Sunday Happy

March 28, 2021 Colleen Stem
IMG_0953.jpg

Did you look at the calendar and also, like me, realize that it is just about April? Like holy shit! I am really hoping now that there is a glimmer of normalcy heading into summer that time won’t be so fleeting. Or you know, it will be and it’s gonna be Christmas before we know it. What can you do?

We had ourselves a week over here. Not a crazy week, but a week. First off, a frog jumped out at me when I was running through the woods. It was giant and green and startled me because is it time for frogs already? I am officially wearing no shoes, only sandal until the next snowfall because now my feet know freedom they will not go back. On that note, I packed most of the winter hats and shit away, or more like threw it all into a big pile in the closet that I will get to when I get to it. And I have some seeds that I am going to throw into the dirt in the next couple days. Spring my friends. It’s hear!

I did accomplish some things needed accomplishing. I glazed a shit ton of stuff (the mr helped me with that ). I spent some time in the studio with the clay. I cleaned up and summer-ized the back porch for summer living and then I opened lots of paperwork that needed to be opened in order to do the taxes. We had the the littles over for dinner where we ran the streets even though it was raining. I went to Megan’s and taught Anthony how to use his new coffee maker and then Megan and I went for a walk. Barb is always with us so you know, I fed her and we did stuff. And yeah, this and that and yada yada yada.

All in all, decent week.

It’s Sunday already which means I need to GET OUT OF TOWN! I am not sure where but basically anywhere will do. It is suppose to pour this afternoon so a long hike is looking less likely, but I don’t mind a little rain, so I am going to find a place to walk amongst the trees. Then I have baking to do. Bread and a cake for the mom.. It’s her birthday this week and I am doing food for her tomorrow because that is what she wants. And because I am the best child of hers. (All of us kids know if…HAHAHA!)
