Sunday Happy

Ah, another week down. And how was it for you? Was is warm and spring all week or did you get a late April snow storm? We got a few inches in the middle of the week. And honestly I might have grumbled a bit, but mostly because I couldn't bike for a couple days. Other then that, I freaking loved it. Soft fluffy snow one day, 60 degrees the next. And this is why I love VT!

Beside a weird summer, winter weather swing, the week was not to different fro the last. Both the mr and I have been doing our things. Him off redoing a kitchen, me trying to get a big batch of mugs done. I was (and still am) trying to finish up the taxes and all that jazz. We also (and more the mr then me) finished putting up the garden fence and I am in LOVE with it. It is so cute but also so needed! Sure the squirrels can still get it ( they jump in from the trees but I am not to worried about them) but it will keep the bunnies and cats and woodchucks out. Hopefully. Last years garden fiasco really hurt my soul so those little fuckers better not this year. HA!

Did a few other fun things. I went to the dentist! That was super exciting given the fact that they we closed for 1/2 a year and this was the earliest appointment I could get. Nothing like a good teeth cleaning, am I right? And I went for a nice spring hike with Meg, Barb, and the kiddos. So found a big river rock at the beginning of the hike and made Megan carry it for an hour and a half because she was convinced she found a dinosaur egg. I was convinced too. But now that I think of it, no one had informed me of a hatched dinosaur so I think it was probably just a rock. We also had the littles over. I fed them all the food. Judah and I made cupcakes. Barb got frosting all over her clothes. Coco ran around like a like mad man, and Miley, well she was 13. Enough said.

Yesterday was one of those super gratifying days. I woke up to late spring again. Went for a bike ride and a run then came home to the mr doing a few things for me and off he went to work. I then spent the rest of the day in and out of the house doing yard work, playing in the garden, and cleaning the house. It was so nice, if not slightly frustrating because I wanted to do everything at once and didn't get more done. But none the less, at least I got some seeds in the ground. And my house is nice and clean!

Today is suppose to rain all day and I am glad about it. I think the mr and I are going to have a little chore date this afternoon and then after chores I hope to spend some of the rainy afternoon sitting on the porch with coffee and a blanket and my pile of books. I am currently in the throws of reading 4 books at the moment. Not exactly sure how that happened but I know 2 of them are new releases so I can’t renew them which means I gots to read them before they are due. Library problem right?

Sunday Happy

What a week. We had sunshine and we had snow. I was hot at time and I was cold at time. My eyes Itch but I don’t care because the world is turning green again and there are flowers and tree buds and veggie starts and all the good things. This is why I love spring so much. It is crazy and unpredictable and more or less not to sunny and not to warm. (I like me a cool cloudy day!)

Stuff happened this week. We had a farewell dinner for Mark because he is now off in the Police Academy which is so freaking weird and now I have a guy on the inside to delete any and all parking and speeding tickets I plan on getting in the future. Ha!. The mr, Barb, and I went for a much needed drive out of town to a river. We had a picnic, watched that water flow, played with rocks. You know, river stuff. Oh and I got a new bike!!! Well not new new but new to me. Ever since I got my bike stolen last fall I have been on the look out for a new one and I got to tell you, things in the bike world are not great right now. New new bikes are a million dollars and even the reasonably priced ones are hard to find cause of lack of inventory (because covid). And used bikes, well finding something that works, not garbage, and fits, is a pain in the ass. But it finally happened and I am just a happy lady on her bike again!

And now my garden, it is being fenced! The mr has been bugging me for a few years now to fence it in and I finally caved. I don’t know why I have been so hesitant about it but I just never wanted a fence. But now that he is putting it up well I am so excited! And the mr being the mr, he is making is so freaking cute and pretty and I am just really really excited and can’t wait for it to be fully up so I can put some shit in the ground and not have it eaten by the massive woodchuck lurking in the neighborhood!

Other then all that good stuff, same old same old. Made plans with the littles for sleepover next week while they are on spring vacation. Worked on pots, sat with the piles of papers then decided I would rather clean the fridge. Picked up second to last farm share. Ate all the greens. Basic life stuff.

And it is Sunday, again so soon. The mr and I are planning on a little drive to a place. Not sure the place exactly but I am hoping for a river/woods situation. A little hike, he can do a little fishing. I can sit by the river and read. That is my hope for today. That and to get all the laundry done. I have been ignoring it and now I have to deal with it. Stupid laundry.

Did you look at the calendar and also, like me, realize that it is just about April? Like holy shit! I am really hoping now that there is a glimmer of normalcy heading into summer that time won’t be so fleeting. Or you know, it will be and it’s gonna be Christmas before we know it. What can you do?

We had ourselves a week over here. Not a crazy week, but a week. First off, a frog jumped out at me when I was running through the woods. It was giant and green and startled me because is it time for frogs already? I am officially wearing no shoes, only sandal until the next snowfall because now my feet know freedom they will not go back. On that note, I packed most of the winter hats and shit away, or more like threw it all into a big pile in the closet that I will get to when I get to it. And I have some seeds that I am going to throw into the dirt in the next couple days. Spring my friends. It’s hear!

I did accomplish some things needed accomplishing. I glazed a shit ton of stuff (the mr helped me with that ). I spent some time in the studio with the clay. I cleaned up and summer-ized the back porch for summer living and then I opened lots of paperwork that needed to be opened in order to do the taxes. We had the the littles over for dinner where we ran the streets even though it was raining. I went to Megan’s and taught Anthony how to use his new coffee maker and then Megan and I went for a walk. Barb is always with us so you know, I fed her and we did stuff. And yeah, this and that and yada yada yada.

All in all, decent week.

It’s Sunday already which means I need to GET OUT OF TOWN! I am not sure where but basically anywhere will do. It is suppose to pour this afternoon so a long hike is looking less likely, but I don’t mind a little rain, so I am going to find a place to walk amongst the trees. Then I have baking to do. Bread and a cake for the mom.. It’s her birthday this week and I am doing food for her tomorrow because that is what she wants. And because I am the best child of hers. (All of us kids know if…HAHAHA!)

It’s SPRING guys! And for like the first time in my memory, the last day of winter was wintery and the first day of spring was springy! Why does that seem like such an achievement? Weather acting according to season. Weird.

Another week gone and gone. I don’t know about you but time is moving in whole new weird way. The days feels super short but add two days together and they last forever The week, it blew by but seems like forever ago. I think daylight saving got to me more then usually with it getting darker out longer in the am and lighter out at night. Also Spring and with spring my dreams get all crazy and have put me in some weird head spaces. And then I think back to a year ago and wow. Wow wow. What the heck was that?

Anyway, I have been busy being busy doing the stuff. Taxes, throwing pots, walking Mom. Haha (but really, she needs to walk a lot after her hip surgery). Mid week on my morning run, because I am just so fast (not really) I slipped on some mud covered ice and fell really hard. But I was ok so kept on running. And then I did it again and again, I was fine (a little less so) but kind of fucked up my finger. I don’t think it is broken anymore but it is twice the size it should be, black and blue all over, and just really uncomfortable. So you know, it has been a pain in the ass to deal with. Other then that, we have been trying to get outside as much as possible because the weather and that is what makes us happy.

Today I am spending the day at the studio glazing pots. The mr offered to come help and I am so very happy for it. I have SOOOO much to glaze so we will be there for a good part of the day. But when we get home I fully plan on taking off my shoes and sitting on the front porch with my book and a cup of coffee and taking in the weather. I might even dig around a little in the dirt! It’s that time again. Got to get the dirt ready for the seeds!

Sunday Happy

What a week. The weather was fantastic, so spring like. I had all the windows open in the house, I didn’t have to wear gloves and heavy jackets every time I stepped out the door, and I even busted out my sandals for a day. It was so needed. A good reminder that spring will come, even if it did snow again since and that it’s gonna get kinda cold this week. But I’ll take it because it is not -10 anymore!

Beside all the nice weather, the week just flew by. We had the kids Sunday and then dropped them off at home so they could start back at school the next day. Once they left I spent the remainder of my day washing snot off the walls, washing and folding every blanket I own, and restocking food. (they ate EVERYTHING!) And now I miss them. But that is how it goes. The following day my Mom went in for her hip surgery, emerging a day later with a new strut and a scary amount of energy for someone who just had a bone replaced in her body. The mr and I have been going over everyday to check on her and walk her up and down the street and help her with any of the things that she might need help with because we are the best and also her favorite. HAHA! Other then that, we have been keeping busy with the usual. The mr has been off and around doing the things. I have been puttering around stacks of papers and going up and down the stairs to the studio more times then I would like to just check on pots that are just not wanting to dry. We had lunch on the front stairs at Megans , well we ate and the mr threw snowballs at So, I fell really hard on some ice on a run (actually I have fallen like 3 times..) and I pulled my piece of shit bike out (The one I rode before my old one get stolen. It is to small and the gears down work and the brakes are bad. I need a new bike ASAP!) and went for a little bike ride to the library. That was nice?

Sunday. It is not going to be as warm as it has been but it will be warm enough. My hopes for today are that I can get out of town for a bit and get in a little hike or at least a nice walk (probably should stay off the the trails right now, the are covered in ice!), read a lot, drink lots of coffee, and to take a nap. A simple day. Sounds freaking fantastic to me.
