Sunday Happy

We made it through another week, although the begining was a little rocky. The heat and humidity was almost enough to take me down. It was so gross. I was so gross, not to mention so pissy and sour and just miserable. It has since gotten much nicer but I am now dreading he next few months. I am officially to old to deal with the heat. GRR!!!!

Other then the heat, the week was pretty decent. Things are slowing down a little so the mr hasn't been working those16 hours days anymore (just like 9-12 hour days) so we got to hang out with the littles, go for a hike with Barb, and have gotten back into our evening walks. Its been nice.

I spent the first half of the week reclaiming about a100 lbs of clay. What normally would take a couple days ended up taking 5. (Stupid freaking hot humid weather). But it eventually got dry enough and I spend a good few hours wedging the shit out of it so yay! got me a ton of wedged up clay! I also went over to Megans house for for where So made me a mud pie which was just what I needed, picked up the first summer farm share of the season, and did quite a bit of weeding in the garden, which is doing good. So far the fence has managed to keep the family of woodchuck from getting in and destroying it like they dd last year. (I see the little fuckers scaling the fence almost every day).

Today, other then a few little chores and a hair cut I promised to give Mark, the mr and I are planning on going for the first kayak of the season. I am really excited, firstly to not be working on a Sunday again , but secondly to get the heck out of town for a bit. It has been too long since I have gotten out of town and I need to go before I end up running away!

I got a handful of mosquito bites, the sky is still light when I go to bed, and I’m already getting cranks from the heat. It is full fledge summertime. Are you ready for it? Me, not so much because well, I turn into an asshole when I get hot and guess what? It’s already too hot out. And we are expecting a heat wave this week so watch out.

The week started off with a mad dash through apartments for turn overs and ended with a mad dash of finishing up apartment turn overs. The mr has been putting in 14 hour days every day so the only time we see each other is when I am with him painting or cleaning and for the few minutes we eat dinner together before he leaves the house to go back to work. But it is mostly over now so he can go back to his less crazy work schedule and maybe come home before 11pm!

So yeah, the week wasn’t all that eventful. I was still feeling like a pile of crap early on (from the vaccine) so I was slow going. I painted wall and scrubbed floors. I fed Megans cat and fed Barb all the food. I did get to see and hang out with my oldest friend for the first time in years, (we are getting so old!) and I managed to get a few things done in the studio. I mixed up a few more test glazes, trimmed and stuck handles on pots, and stated the reclaim process of about 100 lbs of clay. I was suppose to go pick up like 400 lb this week but we have just been too busy and the clay store is almost 2 hours away so I didn’t make it in. Hopefully Ill get there next week. I need clay.

Today is another work day. The mr is finishing up apartment turn over stuff so he will be gone all day and I have a house to clean, a studio to clean, and a butt load of reclaim clay to deal with. Not exactly a hike in the woods (which we would much rather be doing) but hopefully starting in the next few weeks we will be back on the Sunday camping circuit and all will be right again!

Sunday Happy

IMG_2116.jpg

And we are half way through the year. Can we even believe it? When I realized yesterday that is was in fact Memorial Day weekend I was a little shook. but at the same time not surprised. I think I am getting used to the time just slippin slippin slippin into the future. You fell me? Seal does.

The week was a little hairy to say the least. The begining was good. The mr and I worked but managed to make dinner with Mark and Paul and take a little time for a hike. Then I went for a bike ride with Barb, we had lunch, I made her dinner. I made the first rhubarb pie of the season! and started the great deep clean of my studio which is still in process. We also caught, but then released, a ground hog (it was a baby and I couldn't move it yet, And now the whole family is munching away on all my perennials and are scaling the garden fence looking for a way in.)

And then, then I got my second dose of the vax. And I was fine, no, great, for about a few hours. And then I got a little tried and sore so I went to bed. And didn’t get out of bed for 48 hours because I was dying. Not really, but I thought I was. It was bad, so bad I guess that when the mr tried to talk me into maybe eating something I yelled at him and told him I hated vegetables (I don’t remember that). But yeah, A killer migraine (not a bad headache, a fucking migraine. I haven’t had one in a few years but man, if you know, you know), a fever, body aches, bucket by the side of the bed, you know, the whole nine yards. Then the day after that was a little better, as in the migraine was gone, just a really bad headache and I was able to leave my bed and able to eat a little, but I still felt like a trash can. And today. well not sure yet. I didi’t wake up feeling great but not terrible so we will see how the day goes.

So today I hope to feel increasing well. because it is 2 days before the first which mean apartment turnoves. The mr is mad working. Everyone and their mom always needs something done in the span of these 2 days plus we are trying to get a few things in ourselves plus paint an entire apartment by the tomorrow night too so yeah, nothing fun happening here for a few days, although painting an entire 3 bedroom apartment back to white (there are dark walls) in 8 hours has potential for fun. Or murder, or both. Ha!

I am sure no one wants to hear it but jeez, did we have to skip over to summer so soon? It seems like all of a sudden everything is grown and the temperatures flew up. I have ditched the sweaters, can’t even stand a blanket at night, and a few hours outside leave me hot and sunbaked. It’s not that I hate it (yet), it’s just, well I love spring and wanted to dwell in the not so hot far just a little longer but oh well, nothing I can do about it.

How you feeling, how you doing? Are you adjusting to this new life we are embarking on with seeing more human faces and maybe returning to a more normal state of living? Me, well I am not one for lots of people in general but driving into town the other day gave me a shock. So many people out and about and lots of naked faces. It shook me which then shook me. Lets’s just say that I am happy to stay in my little bubble for the time being and maybe forever and ever. HA!

The week. Did it and now it’s done. Taxes are in just in time for tax day. I got a bunch of pots out of the glaze kiln that I didn't hate, worked an this and that, and went on a couple little hikes with the mr. I have been enjoyed the smell of fresh cut grass and seeing all the flowers and trees immensely. We hung out with the boy littles for a little bit, fed barb food, and I planted and played in the garden. Same old same old.

Today the mr and I are running far away into the woods where there (hopefully) won’t be a ton of people. We’ll find a river, he will fish, I will read. A nice quiet afternoon of nature and nobody. And coffee. And shorts… I just need to dig them out of the back of the closet!

Sunday Happy

Has this week felt weird to you? I don’t know exactly why but it has just felt really strange to me. Maybe it is a seasonal thing or maybe it is that I am seeing more and more “normal” activities from people and it is freaking me out. Or maybe I am just really tired and have a case of some serious brain fog, which I in fact do.

Other then being strange the week was typical. Went for a hike with Megan, Barb, and the mr. and had an outside lunch at my moms. Played in the garden a bunch and read a lot. Worked on pots and trashed my studio. I also finished tax stuff so all I need to do now is get it out there so I have them done and done. And now to start thinking all about next years taxes! AGHHH!

And I did some other stuff and that is about it I think. Again, weird week and weird brain so I could very well be forgetting some of life. Happens right?

Anyway, today is Mothers Day and the mr, Barb, and I are going over to visit with Mom for a little while. I’ll bring some flowers because I am nice like that. Then I’ll probably spend the rest of the day reading because it seems that is all I am wanting to do these days. That and drink coffee but what else is new?
