Sunday Happy

Yes, this is my cat plate.. We should all have one.

Yes, this is my cat plate.. We should all have one.

Hey hey hey! Happy Valentines Day! Hope you have a loved one to share the day with (romantically or not)

How has your week been? We are getting right back into the swing of thingsand it has been a little too easy. It's almost (almost) like we didn't leave. The best thing I can think to do now is to start planning our next big adventure (pretty sure we are going cross county at then end of this summer) But before that we have the house to do. This week we have spent a good amount of time with drawings, measurements, looking at materials, and just trying to figure out what we want and or can do. (we can't afford solid gold bath fixtures.. wonk wonk...) And the apartments. I think everyone and their mom wants to rent one of our apartments. So many showings.  The mr has been so good and running around showing places like 5 times a day, in the cold no less, but so far so good. We have a few new tenantslined up and ready to go.  Things are getting done around here!

But other then that. just thinking a bit much about spring. I am getting the feels for all sorts of dirty activities (planting things you dirty birds) and am thinking we should probably get seeds and get some plants going soon here. This lady is needing some kale!

Anyway. V day. Off to a great start. I am awake and inside and not outside so that's awesome. I realized how cold it is out when last night after the pup came inside from his5 minute walk, I tried to take his leash off and my fingers froze to the metal clip. Yeah, its that f*cking cold. So no outside today(it's suppose to be worse then yesterday)  Nope, just going to make a gallon of coffee, open the door and let the puppy go pee. Then I will close said door, sit on the couch, and continue my morning reading. This will be the way of the day. Coffee, reading, letting the pup go pee. Simple and satisfying. Oh and the mr and I are going to watch a movie later and eat lots of food.. The excitement is overflowing here!

How about you? Got any big plans? Don't worry if you don't, your big plans today should involve being happy and staying warm, but if you do. Go you! Have fun, and remember to keep your clothes on until you get inside!

Here is some internet I weeded through for you to look at.

-Is there a difference between hot cocoa and hot chocolate... yes, and its kind of obvious.

I love me a good home. And lucky for me, my home is really good.

This week has been nothing but a little weird. We pretty much went from travel mode to real life mode within a day and we still have not completely shaken the post travel, kinda weird heady feelings. (I am still waking up at weird times in the night for a second wondering where I am.) I think part of it is that I have been feeling kind of sick ever since we got back and also all the crap we have to deal with is making real life feel a little stressful. (TAXES AAAAHHHHH!!!) But at the same time, everything about being home is fantastic. Lots of family time, lots of puppy and kitty time, and lots of just being home with a somewhat normal routine. I love to travel and see new places, but one of the best part of leaving is the coming back.

And my kitchen. Oh how I have missed it.

So today is a planed chill out and catch up on not catching up day. We must try not to achieve to much other then watching some tv, (I should finish the watching the first season of the fresh prince) reading, drinking more then to much coffee and just taken the day easy. And I might even bake something! We have all next week to be crazy busy.

And I hope the same goes for you too because you know you need it.

Here are some of the things that the internet has shown me this week.

-I NEED to go to this park. Maybe my next trip?

-Vegan Ben and Jerry's has arrived!

-Love this loft and all of the plants.

-Someday I will have one of these rugs and life will be awesome

-Very much into a white washed workspace

-This House Costs Just $20,000—But It’s Nicer Than Yours

-Watch the rainbow bagels be made. So pretty

-Finally, I have been waiting for this. Two Scientists Have Attempted to Study Resting Bitchface

-Love me some plants

-Is ‘Vegetable-Forward’ Dining Really the Way We Want to Eat?

and pictures this week were few, so I will leave you with this one (a pre-trip angry kitty on the move)

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Sunday Happy

Sunday Happy...more like crazy Sunday. I think I am about to crack with all the last minute things that we have to do before we leave. I have been such an ass, procrastinating and putting off all the details of traveling and now all of a sudden we are leaving in 2 days.

Whoa shit! So much to do.

On that note, this past week really was nuts. Full of stupid things like a day at the DMV renewing expired driving licenses and spending an afternoon at the phone store only to walk our empty handed and pissed. We actually haven't really been that bad at putting the traveling stuff off, it's just that we have been busy with the normal life too.  But yesterday we got a lot of the booking done (our credit card finally came in), and all of what we want to pack out so all we need to do now is shove it all into backpacks, figure out the car rental thing (I am confused. why? I am not sure) and chill out a little tonight

We both need to chill.

But until then, I will be drinking too much coffee, spending too much time comparing rental cars and throwing things around like a lunatic. Fun fun..

You guys. We are leaving in 2 DAY!!! AAAAAAHHHHI am so excited I might just pee myself!

Some if the Internet stuff that I have been looking at while I should be researching car rentals and how to translate the phrase "where's the toilet" into danish.

-United States favorites by state.. Phish, Volvos and maple syrup. Yup, that's Vermont

-I think I am going to have to make this chocolate tofu tart when we get back

-Do you use your coffee grounds? I like to de-stink smelly things with them. Your Coffee Grounds Have a Much Better Fate Than the Compost

-Top 10 most desirable Air bnb's in the world. And we are not staying in any of them.

-I am really super sad that David Bowie dies. I have always had an old man crush on him ever sense he danced around in those tight pants in Labyrinth. I guess I can still hallucinate about him. David Bowie Is Apparently a Frequent Guest Star in People’s Hallucinations

-This is good new to me. I am not the biggest fan of the LED light, it looks to white. Return of incandescent light bulbs as MIT makes them more efficient than LEDs.

-What!! A LIFE-SIZED CARAVAN MADE FROM 215,158 LEGO BRICKS . I would live in it for sure

Whenever we bring the pup over to the new house, he immediately grabs his ball and runs to the back door. Usually I let him out for a minute but have to drag him back in and have him lay down while we work. But at the end of each day, I bring him out back again and throw the ball with him.  He is so happy and cute and goofy which makes me so happy. He really has taken to the house and having him there, being so comfortable and happy really makes the house feel like home. It's a great feeling.

The past week.. what a week. So much, so much. Lots of family, lots of work, lots of trying to clean and organize. We finished up what we needed to get done at the new house before the contractors come on Monday (we hired some people to remove some not so good stuff from the attic) so wehave this coming up week to get our shit together, makes sure all the other houses and stuff of life here is taken care of when were are gone and maybe even book a few places to sleep. (we have yet to book a single one.) But hey, we are young and adventurous,  and we'llfigure it out. (I hope)

And I am still deciding weather or not I should unplug the fridge while we are gone or stock the freezer with food to eat when we get back. Oh man, decisions decisions.

But enough about me, how did the first week of the year go for you? I know, we didn't win the power ball so that sucks, but are you feeling like the year started off good? Still keeping your resolutions and staying away from the cookies and making your bed everyday? Don't worry if it didn't stick and you, at this moment, are eating a box of cookies in a very messy bed. It's totally cool to do. Cookies in a messy bed might just be what you need right now. So I say go for it. (just maybe don't make a habit of it)

Stuff to look at while eating your cookies or doing whatever.

-This home looks like a lovely place to live

-Some Bathroom inspiration for the new house

-Whoa now. How Real Is Reality?

- I want to live here and here.. part time of course

-I don't get excited for tv easily, but this show.... I laugh every time I see a commercial for it. I am excited!

-Would you buy a $100 donut? (your answer should be no)

And a few shoots from the week.

Happy 2016! Happy Winter! Happy Snow!(a few weeks late, but super happy for it to come at last)

So did you have a great week off, or a slower then normal week? Lots of lounging, binge watching of the Netflix and eating all the left over cookies? Or was it back to work and back to reality? We go from holiday madness to all out crazy the week after Christmas.. There are birthday parties, littles out of school that need babysitting, and work. We keep on working cause that's what we do. And remember last week how I told you I was losing my voice. Well it turned out that I lost it for the entire week. So I was a little sick and really quite which made for a weird and interesting one fore sure.. (especially babysitting without a voice. That got crazy)

And it happened again. New years. Did you party party and stay up til midnight to watch the (fill in the blank) drop? Not going to lie, the mr and I brought in the new year trying to watch tv together, but I just ended up reading. Then I actually fell asleep at 930. What can I say. I am an old lady. And no resolutions, just the average everyday, I need to do "this" or 'that' a little better/faster/cleaner or what not. Goals are what I have and there is not time line. But if you have resolutions, well good for you.

Today is actually the first day off we have taken since last Sunday.  As of now, there are a few little things we are going to work on over at the house but we are not getting into the nitty gritty of it all until we get back from our plane rides of fun in February. Last week we got the ceilings sheet rocked and the mr is now doing the tape/mud this week. (I don't even try because 1. I suck ass at it. 2. he is so good and3. he really likes doing it) I've got a butt load of paper/ bills/ things people want, to go through so this will be a good week to do that and to start whittling away at my spoon. Plus we have a lot of things that need to be done before we depart, like watching scary you tube videos of people trying to drive around Ireland on the right side of the road, figure out whether or not I can bring dried lentils in my carry on, and gather enough reading material to last me plane rides and early mornings spent drinking tea by the sea side.

So much. But not today. Today is for reading, coffee and tea,  a warm cozy sweater and most likely some ice on the old back (sheet rocking ceilings kinda sucks)

I hope your day is spend well, doing good things and being happy.

Stuff I liked on the internet this week.
